1. Learning Curve 1-10
This is a measure of how long a game takes to learn and be able to play competently. Games that take a long time to learn can be rewarding, but they also keep many people from ever learning the game. For our rating system a game receives a low score if it takes a long time to learn and a high score if it can be learned quickly.

2. Fun 1-10
Is it fun to play? Does it invoke joy and merriment? If so, it receives a higher score.

3. Price 1-10
The cheaper the game the higher the score.

4. Replay Ability 1-10
Can this game be played over and over and still be enjoyable? Also factored into this score is whether the game has a limiting aspect i.e. a certain number of cards with questions.

5. Child Accessibility 1-10
Similar to learning curve, but differs in that this rates whether kids will understand the game and ultimately enjoy it.

6. Skill 1-10
Is this a skill based game or a luck based game? Skill based games are ones where the players and their skill levels determine the game, not chance or random luck. Skill games receive higher scores.

7. Portability 1-10
Can this game be played anywhere? Games that can be played on the road or even in a line at an amusement park receive high scores.

8. Length of Game 1-10
Finishing a long game can bring a sense of achievement, but short games get played more often. The shorter a game can be completed, the higher the score.

9. Universality 1-10
How easy is it to find other people that know how to play this game? Are there tournaments for this game? The more people who know how to play, the higher the score.

10. Fosters other skills/knowledge 1-10
Directly related to Games For Life's mission. Does the game increase math or verbal skills or teach history? High scores go to games that teach multiple skills.
